Frequently Asked Questions

My Bible First was started to help parents establish daily family worships. Many parents want to have family worship, but just don't know what to do. The lessons are written to help parents teach their children to love Jesus, and devote their lives in service to Him while still at a young age. Children can understand the plan of salvation and the great controversy theme. That's why all our Bible lessons from Beginners through Juniors present the Bible stories in the order that they happened. Each week's lesson builds on what was learned the previous week. It really helps children to understand how God has been working in history, and the consequences of choices. This approach really makes sense to children, and helps them put all the "pieces" together.

The thought questions help apply the Bible stories to every-day life, and help children understand the importance of their daily choices, and how they can choose to serve Jesus. The Bible references are highlighted throughout, to encourage children to study the Bible itself, not just learn what someone has written about the Bible. There are a few texts in each lesson that they actually have to look up!

Kindergarten and Primary study the same story each week, and have the same memory verse. The other ages are on different cycles to meet their particular needs.

If Kindergarten and Primary are together, that actually works very well, because Kindergarten and Primary follow the same sequence. If Primary is studying the story of Daniel one week, Kindergarten has the same story, but more simplified. You can use one lesson or the other, or you can give the Primary lesson to the older children, and the Kindergarten to the younger.

If Beginners and Kindergarten are together, then we recommend teaching the Kindergarten lesson (or dividing up for the Bible story time). Review the MV for both. Younger children love the stories even if they are "new."

Don't teach "over their heads," but don't be afraid to challenge them.

The lessons come as individual weekly handouts. Parents and teachers like this, because it keeps the price lower, and they can use the lessons however they want. You can use them as a weekly handout, or you can bind a quarter of lessons together and use them as a quarterly. One option for binding is to 3-hole-punch the lessons and put them in a prong folder. Or you can have the lessons bound at an office supply store. Or your church or school may have equipment for adding a spiral or comb binding. Whichever option you choose, the margins are wide enough to punch them without cutting out any of the words or pictures. Or you can cut the lessons along the fold and insert them into vinyl sheet-protectors. They last a lot longer that way!

Actually, you can order any quantity. You can order just one set, or fifty sets, or more!

Yes. Just let us know the church address, or the treasurer's address. We'll send the invoice there, and ship to whatever address you specify.

Great question! Actually, the price is the same no matter how many you order. Since this is a ministry, we are happy to provide these materials at just a little above our cost. But to give discounts and sales like a commercial enterprise, we'd have to significantly raise the regular price, which would be unfair to small churches, families, and overseas missionaries.

We ship by United States Postal Service. You may use a P.O. Box for a shipping address.

Yes, we'll ship to your home, church, or whatever address you specify.

You can make changes any time. You can add to your order at any time, even in the middle of the quarter. If you are reducing the quantity of your standing order, be sure to contact us by the standing order deadlines listed below. You can increase your order after the deadlines if you need to. The only extra cost will be a second shipping charge.

Current standing orders are shipped about 6 weeks before the new quarter. To be sure that your changes apply to the correct quarter, please observe the following standing order deadlines:

Call our office. Your account has probably not been paid yet. The most frequent cause of a missing standing order is an unpaid account.
